Main Functions and Features
Main Function: High temperature, high pressure, forming.
Working Principle: The vacuum hot pressing furnace is a complete set of equipment for hot-pressing and forming materials under vacuum (or other atmosphere) conditions. It primarily employs graphite resistance heating and utilizes oil cylinder-driven rams to apply pressure from above and below. At high temperatures, the mutual bonding of solid particles in the material blank, grain growth, and the gradual reduction of pores and grain boundaries cause a decrease in overall volume and an increase in density through material transfer. Finally, it forms a dense polycrystalline sintered body with a specific microstructure, thereby compacting and shaping the material.
Furnace Body Structure: The furnace body features a double-layer vertical cylindrical structure. The inner wall is made of 304 stainless steel with a precision-polished finish, and the outer wall is high-quality carbon steel. Water flows between the inner and outer walls for cooling, ensuring the furnace wall temperature remains below 55°C. The side of the furnace body is equipped with vacuum pump connections, observation windows with baffles, etc.
Furnace Door Design: The furnace door adopts a double-layer, water-cooled, side-opening structure (convenient for loading/unloading molds). The inner wall is 304 stainless steel with a precision-polished finish, and the outer wall is high-quality carbon steel. Water flows between the inner and outer walls for cooling. The furnace top is fitted with a ram seal seat.
Temperature Control: The touchscreen PLC control system conforms to IEC standards. It uses carefully selected electrical components and measuring elements, offering simple and intuitive operation. It includes: one complete control cabinet containing push buttons, indicator lights, alarms, air circuit breakers, contactors, cable trays, etc. During operation, the entire furnace features automatic interlocking and alarm functions for low water pressure, overtemperature, and overcurrent, as well as a protective main power cut-off. Alarms are indicated by sound and light.
Heating System: High-quality silicon carbide (SiC) rod heating, arranged in a ring configuration.
Furnace Chamber Insulation Material: Polycrystalline alumina ceramic fiber furnace chamber. Excellent insulation ensures optimal temperature uniformity and even heating of the workpiece. It also facilitates easy maintenance and replacement of heating elements. The chamber is formed via vacuum adsorption molding technology, featuring a multi-piece, semi-circular assembled structure. A well-designed step sealing arrangement creates an effective thermal barrier system.
Heating Electrodes: The heating electrodes are specially designed from red copper. The electrode design ensures good sealing and insulation with the furnace body, reliable contact with the power supply cables, and easy disassembly. The new electrode structure prevents the corrosion of copper pipes and soldered joints, thereby avoiding water leakage during prolonged use.
Pressurization System: The press consists of columns and upper/lower beams. The pressurization cylinder is fixed to the beam, and the furnace body is supported on a furnace frame and fixed to the lower beam. The beams undergo strict machining to ensure the pressing accuracy of the upper and lower rams. The pressurization system comprises a hydraulic power unit, a pressurization cylinder, a pressure sensor, and a displacement sensor. It is controlled by solenoid valves via the control system. A grating ruler is used for the displacement sensor. The system can regulate pressure manually (standard) or automatically via the controller, enabling pressure stabilization and holding.
Water Cooling System: The water cooling system consists of water inlet/outlet pipes, electric contact pressure gauges, valves, pipelines, etc. It supplies cooling water to the vacuum unit, furnace body, heating electrodes, etc., via pipelines. The system is connected to the control system. If water pressure is low, an audible/visual alarm automatically triggers, and the heating power is automatically cut off to ensure equipment safety. The customer is responsible for providing the standby water supply device, with a standby water flow rate of ≥10 m³/h.
Application Scope: The hot pressing sintering furnace combines vacuum/atmosphere, hot pressing, and high-temperature sintering. It is suitable for high-temperature forming of new materials such as powder metallurgy products and functional ceramics.
Application Industries: Used for vacuum sintering of transparent ceramics, industrial ceramics, metals, and alloys composed of refractory metals, as well as for high-temperature sintering of ceramic materials like silicon carbide (SiC) and silicon nitride (Si₃N₄). It can also be used for heat treatment of powders or compacts below the melting point of the main constituent, aiming to increase strength through metallurgical bonding between particles.

Optional Configurations:
Vacuum System: The system includes a -8 rotary vane mechanical pump, a vacuum butterfly valve, a vacuum gauge tube, a vacuum pressure gauge, a vacuum vent valve, vacuum pipelines, etc., and is equipped with a gas inlet port. To reduce furnace vibration, a metal bellows connects the vacuum pipeline to the pump. Vacuum measurement is performed by a resistance vacuum gauge.
Gas Charging Unit (Optional): The gas charging unit (excluding gas drying, gas filtration, and exhaust gas treatment systems) mainly consists of a charging valve, a float flowmeter, and charging pipelines. It meets the process requirements for charging inert gases like Argon or Nitrogen, with a maximum charging pressure of ≤0.1 MPa (absolute pressure).
