PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

Brief Introduction

The LYL-18ZTL series large high-vacuum, high-temperature vacuum furnace is primarily used for processes such as vacuum sintering and quenching of hard alloys, magnetic materials, ceramics, and powder materials. Its design, tailored for high-temperature sintering processes, ensures reliability in thermal and electrical insulation. The innovative electrode structure eliminates the risk of water leakage, and vulnerable parts in the heating system are designed for easy maintenance and replacement.

Application

This equipment is widely used in universities, research institutes, and industrial and mining enterprises. It is an ideal device for experiments and production involving powders, electronics, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, ceramics, sulfur, glass/new materials, chemicals, metal sintering, and metal heat treatment.

Structure Description

  1. The carbon steel outer shell is welded by a certified pressure vessel factory, ensuring air-tight welds with no leaks from pores or cracks.


  2. A double-layer furnace shell is constructed as required, sealed with O-ring silicone gaskets.


  3. The furnace door seal utilizes a wire-cut flange with an embedded O-ring silicone gasket, secured by a handwheel.


  4. The furnace chamber can be either square or cylindrical, with an optional electric door opening mechanism.


  5. The furnace shell exterior features electrostatic spray painting for rust prevention, offering an aesthetically pleasing appearance.


  6. The furnace chamber is made of alumina polycrystalline fiber, combining an attractive look with energy efficiency.


  7. Well-known brand electrical components are employed to ensure safety and reliable performance.


  8. Temperature control and measurement exclusively use:


  • Single Platinum-Rhodium (Type S) thermocouples for temperatures ≤1500°C;


  • Dual Platinum-Rhodium (Type B) thermocouples for temperatures ≤1800°C.

Vacuum System Description

  1. The vacuum system is a diffusion pump unit: consisting of a diffusion pump + a rotary vane Roots vacuum pump. The pumping system comprises a high-vacuum diffusion pump, water-cooled baffle, rotary vane vacuum pump, electromagnetic vacuum valve with gas inlet, high-vacuum pneumatic gate valve (main valve), high-vacuum pneumatic gate valve for roughing, high-vacuum pneumatic gate valve (outlet valve), roughing line gas inlet valve, connecting pipelines, sealing rings, a compound vacuum gauge, and a power distribution cabinet.


  2. This unit is not suitable for pumping gases corrosive to metals or chemically reactive with pump oil. It can serve as a high-vacuum acquisition device for high-tech applications such as vacuum smelting, vacuum sintering, vacuum heat treatment, vacuum coating, vacuum brazing, and space simulation experiments. Operating environment: temperature 5~40°C, relative humidity ≤85%, cooling water temperature 25°C ±5°C.


  3. The achievable vacuum level is related to the pumping capacity of the vacuum pumps, the chamber's airtightness, and the outgassing from internal materials (furnace liner, experimental fixtures, heat sinks, etc.). This unit's ultimate pressure is 1×10⁻³ Pa, with an operating pressure of 1×10⁻² Pa. Pumping time is approximately 1 hour.


  4. The diffusion pump cannot operate alone; a roughing pump must first lower the system pressure to the level required for diffusion pump start-up, typically ≤10 Pa.


  5. A modern water-cooled baffle is installed at the diffusion pump inlet, effectively preventing oil vapor from the diffusion pump from back-streaming into the vacuum chamber and contaminating the experimental apparatus.


  6. To prevent vacuum oil from the roughing pump from flowing back into the diffusion pump cavity upon pump shutdown, an electromagnetic valve is installed at the roughing pump inlet, automatically isolating the system piping when the pump stops.


  7. All valves are pneumatically operated for ease of use.


  8. A roughing bypass is included in the system. During initial pumping, gas is extracted directly by the roughing pump, bypassing the diffusion pump. This prevents contamination (moisture, volatiles, impurities) of the diffusion pump by the gas from the chamber. When the chamber pressure drops to 10 Pa, the roughing valve is closed, the baffle valve is opened, and the diffusion pump begins normal pumping of the chamber.

Silicon molybdenum rods, when heated to high temperatures in an oxidizing atmosphere, form a dense layer of quartz glass on the surface, protecting them from further oxidation. Therefore, silicon molybdenum rods exhibit high-temperature oxidation resistance. In an oxidizing atmosphere, they can reach temperatures up to 1800°C, making them suitable as heating elements for high-temperature furnaces in industries such as electronics, ceramics, magnetic materials, glass, metallurgy, and refractories.

1.A common chemical instrument typically used for handling crucibles. Generally made of stainless steel or other non-flammable, oxidation-resistant hard materials.


2.Clean crucible tongs must be used.


3.When using crucible tongs to pick up a hot crucible, the tips should be preheated first to prevent the crucible from cracking due to localized cooling. After use, the tongs should be placed on a table or asbestos mat with the tips facing upward.


4.After the experiment, crucible tongs should be cleaned, dried, and stored in the laboratory equipment cabinet.


5.Use the curved section for gripping crucibles; the tips are for other purposes.


6.Crucible tongs are not necessarily used exclusively with crucibles; they can also be used independently.

Factory Environment

1. Indoor use;


2. Ambient temperature range: ±5~45℃;


3. Relative humidity of surrounding environment does not exceed 85%;


4. No conductive dust, explosive gases, or gases that can severely damage metals and insulating materials around the furnace.





Safety Protection

1. When using the electric furnace for the first time or after long-term shutdown, baking is required; otherwise, it is easy to cause furnace cracking.


2. Keep clean regularly and check whether the furnace wiring is in good contact.


3. When using the electric furnace, the furnace temperature shall not exceed the rated temperature to avoid damaging the heating elements. It is forbidden to pour various flammable liquids and molten metals into the furnace.


4. During operation, generally below 300℃, the heating rate should not be too fast, because the furnace chamber is cold at the beginning of heating and needs to absorb a lot of heat.






Friendly Tips

1. To ensure the normal service life of the equipment, please do not run at the rated temperature for a long time.


2. Carefully check and verify the quantity of goods and accessories upon receipt to avoid inconvenience caused by missing or incorrect items.


3. To extend the service life of the instrument, we recommend a heating rate and cooling rate of 10℃/min.


4. The cooling rate should not exceed 5℃/min.


5. This furnace has no vacuum sealing structure, so flammable and explosive gases must not be introduced.


6. After this furnace has been used for a period of time, slight cracks may appear in the furnace chamber, which is a normal phenomenon and will not affect usage. At the same time, it can be repaired with alumina coating.
